- (CO) - COLORADO SPRINGS FICTION WRITERS GROUP - The Colorado Springs Fiction Writer’s Group’s focus is to give the writing community a peer environment with which to share concepts, ideas, critiques and projects. The CSFWG aids aspiring and established writers in improving the quality of their craft by offering online research, editing services, monthly articles, podcasting, promotion and critique groups for those in the Pikes Peak region.
- (CO) - PIKES PEAK WRITERS - Pikes Peak Writers began in 1993 as “The Pikes Peak Writers Conference,” founded by author Jimmie Butler. The inaugural conference centered on “Useful Tips for Writing Commercial Fiction,” and enjoyed sponsorship by the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District and The Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration.
- (New England) - NEW ENGLAND HORROR WRITERS- Founded in 2001, New England Horror Writers (NEHW) provides peer support and networking, with a relaxed and social mindset, for authors of horror and dark fantasy in the New England area. NEHW focuses on forming new friendships and supporting each other’s writing goals, as well as promoting the writing of New England authors.
- HORROR WRITERS ASSOCIATION (Horror) – Where else would you expect to get the latest information on horror writers than at the Horror Writers Association. This esteemed organization has added a wiki for tracking the careers of its members, for collecting information about horror conventions past and present, and for documenting the history of the Bram Stoker Awards.
- CRITTERS (Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror) – Critters is a member of the Critique.org family of on-line workshops/critique groups, and is for serious writers of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. You get your work critiqued in exchange for critiquing the work of others, both of which are invaluable ways to improve your writing. It’s run by Andrew Burt, former vice-president of SFWA and his army of software minions. Critters is free (except for the work of doing critiques!) and funded by donations; if you find Critters useful, donations are appreciated .
